IPM Victory at Bellevue School District!
After three years of hard work by a committed group of parents, experts, and the Washington Toxics Coalition staff, the Bellevue School District is finally going to reduce its pesticides and adopt an Integrated Pest Management policy and program!
The Bellevue School District grounds staff has been rebuffing the parent’s very real concerns, but they were no match for the strength and determination of our Bellevue Team!
On Tuesday evening, Bellevue School District was officially certified as an IPM Star School, a program started by the IPM Institute of North America. This puts Bellevue in a list of only two other schools in the state that have been certified. While it does not go as far as we like, it finally puts Bellevue on a track to continue to reduce its pesticide use and make children’s health Bellevue’s number one priority.
Congratulations to all of the volunteers who worked so many long hours and years on this!
